It has been a while since I got back from Xavier However, year 2007/08 definitely changed my life! I am so thankful for experience I gained from Xavier community. It has been inspiring and challenging year for me. Its hard to describe by words how much I could grow as a student, person, and a Christian.
Literally, I felt like in heaven...from my childhood I had some kind of artistic soul in myself and in Xavier department of art I could spread my interest in art in every corner :-)
I am so blessed that I can say I have been doing musical, I have been singing in concert choir, I have got the best teacher in art, and I could put my talents to service of God as well. Its amazing!
Lately, I have received my bachelor degree of Art and Drama at the Academy of Art and Music. And I am working now as an actor, singer, dancer, and artist. A few days ago I sang at the biggest jazz festival in Slovakia, and I am working these days on a very special theatre project called: "Theatre of masks" with amazing Italian director who is teaching and directing all around the world also in Chicago, L.A and so on. In my work I meet very sensitive and good people almost everyday and its amazing how I can apply things that I have learned in Xavier. Not many of them are catholic but in general there are beautiful people. I have learned I cannot judge people by the religion...many times they are much nicer people inside then we are.......We are learning from each other worlds and Its just a gift for both of us.
It is interesting how life works.... Last couple of months I had many nice opportunities and events I could participated such as European jazz singing contest in Latvia or I could present my art work in Audi Exclusive Gallery ...I felt so blessed at the same time We had very hard situation at home...My brothers wife had been fighting with the cancer for a year. They have 2 little kids and It was extremely hard to smile at the stage and feel pain and being worried inside ...So many people were praying for her and miracle happened! She is healthy!!!!
We fall everyday...but God gives us a new chance everyday as well Its important to try...we never be perfect but this is not the point.... Way is more important than perfection.
I used to admire all "brave" kids who have had an experience as exchange students. It always seemed to me so unreal and impossible to go abroad in this early teenage age for a whole year. I thought to myself that it would never happen to me :-) One day I just woke up and I said to myself I am going to America. And so suddenly it didn't seem to be that hard for me. I started to be so excited about it. I saw everything only from the positive view. Summer camp was one of the most amazing experience in my life! Everything went so fast and suddenly my time of traveling to America was very close. The last days were very tough because I didnt know what to expect. When I finally got to my dream country my story started :-)
Honestly, being an exchange student was the best gift I could get from my parents. This year was very challenging and tough but on the other hand I spent there one of the most beautiful times in my life. It was such a blessing ...I mean everything. People I met, things I got to know...I gain from this experience everyday. And it has already been 5 years. One of the most important thing I have learned is that so many things depend on our attitudes. There were also so many negative things happening to me but I have learned to find positive stuff on it , and it really is true. I am so thankful for each negative experience that happens in my life because I know its a challenge and I learn much more from it.
